The Magic 8 Ball is a toy made by Mattel, originally created in 1946 by Albert Carter and Abe Bookman. It contains a 20-sided die floating in dark blue liquid inside a hollow sphere. When you turn it over, one of 20 answers floats to a window on the bottom. The original 20 answers are divided into 10 positive, 5 noncommittal, and 5 negative responses, giving you a 50% chance of a positive answer, 25% noncommittal, and 25% negative.
Positive (10): It is certain, It is decidedly so, Without a doubt, Yes definitely, You may rely on it, As I see it yes, Most likely, Outlook good, Yes, Signs point to yes. Noncommittal (5): Reply hazy try again, Ask again later, Better not tell you now, Cannot predict now, Concentrate and ask again. Negative (5): Don't count on it, My reply is no, My sources say no, Outlook not so good, Very doubtful.
