Pronounced "my-oh-calc" • Calculate everything. Overthink nothing.
MayoCalc (my-oh-calc) was built on a simple idea: everyone deserves access to accurate, beautifully designed calculators that help them make smarter decisions. Whether you are figuring out how much house you can afford, understanding your calcium score, splitting a dinner bill, or estimating your daily calories, we believe the tools should be free, fast, and backed by real data.
Every calculator and guide on MayoCalc is built with the same core commitments: accuracy, transparency, and clinical or institutional sourcing. We do not publish health or financial content based on anecdote or opinion. Our editorial process requires that all claims cite peer-reviewed research, government agency guidelines, or institutional data.
Health content on MayoCalc references sources including the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the American Heart Association (AHA), the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and peer-reviewed journals including Circulation, JACC, the New England Journal of Medicine, and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Financial content references the Federal Reserve Survey of Consumer Finances, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and institutional reports from Fidelity Investments and Vanguard.
All sources are linked directly in each article so readers can verify claims independently. If you find an error or an outdated citation, please contact us and we will correct it promptly.
Our CT Calcium Score Calculator uses exact per-year percentile data from the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), sourced directly from the MESA CAC Reference Values tool (McClelland et al., Circulation 2006). It covers all eight demographic groups (White, Black, Hispanic, and Chinese men and women) across ages 45-84, with zero interpolation error. The MESA 10-Year CHD Risk Score calculator uses the McClelland et al. (JACC 2015) and Blaha et al. (JAHA 2021) equations. The warranty period of a zero CAC score feature is based on Dzaye et al. (JACC Cardiovasc Imaging 2021).
Our financial calculators use standard actuarial and financial formulas. Compound interest uses the standard compound interest formula. Mortgage calculators use standard amortization math. Tax and paycheck calculators reference current IRS brackets and state tax rates, updated annually.
Health calculators use peer-reviewed equations: Mifflin-St Jeor for calorie/TDEE estimation, the U.S. Navy method for body fat estimation, the CKD-EPI 2021 equation for eGFR, and the ADAG study formula for A1C-to-blood-sugar conversion.
Every calculator on MayoCalc is completely free to use. No sign-ups, no email gates, no premium tiers. Your data stays in your browser and is never sent to our servers. All calculations run entirely client-side.
