Add your courses and grades to calculate your GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Your Grade Point Average is calculated by multiplying each course grade by its credit hours, adding the totals, and dividing by total credits:
Most US colleges use a 4.0 scale where A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, and F = 0.0. Plus and minus grades adjust these by +0.3 or -0.3 (e.g., B+ = 3.3, B- = 2.7).
Your GPA affects academic standing, scholarship eligibility, graduate school admissions, and some job applications. Most programs require a minimum 2.0 to remain in good standing, while competitive graduate programs often look for 3.5 and above.
